How do we get to the Games?
The Games take place on the sports field of MBNA on Chester Business Park, CH4 9FD Maps are available on this website.
Is there plenty of parking?
Yes, parking attendants will direct participants to the parking and there is a drop-off area near the registration tent.
What happens when we arrive?
Participants sign in at the Competitors’ Registration Tent which will be clearly signposted. They will receive a name badge and a check list of games which they can get ticked as they go round the games.
Do we have to pay?
The Games are FREE to all participants and carers.
Is there somewhere to leave bags and coats?
There is a supervised cloakroom in the main building.
Where are the toilets?
There are excellent toilet facilities, including disabled toilets, in the main building.
Are refreshments available?
Sandwiches and tea/coffee/cold drinks are available to purchase, but most groups bring their own lunch.
Is there somewhere to picnic?
There are plenty of grassy areas for groups to sit and picnic.
What happens if it rains on the day?
The Games go ahead but if the weather is very bad, participants can shelter in the covered car park area.
What about wheelchair access?
There is wheelchair access to the main building where the toilets and some indoor games are located. The grassed area is mostly flat and there is a cinder path to the main arena.
What if we need First Aid?
A qualified first-aider is on duty on the site. Go to the Rotary Volunteers Registration Tent.
Can children attend?
The Games are designed for adult participation and are not suitable for children.
What sports games are there to try?
There are adapted versions of the following:
Darts, Golf, Bowls, Tennis, Cycling, Skittles, Archery, Velcro Ball, Boccia, Penalty Shoot-out, Table Tennis, Cricket, Curling, Assault Course.
How difficult are the games?
All the games are adapted to any ability level so everyone can take part if they wish in any of the games.
Can I choose which games to do?
Participants can choose to take part in any or all of the games offered and can go back and repeat any if they wish. There is no pressure to take part in a game if the participant does not wish to do so.
Can we come and go at any time?
The Games start at 10.00 am and finish at 3.00 pm but competitors can arrive and depart at any time if they wish. Regrettably only competitors who are present at the medal ceremony at the end of the Games can receive a medal.
